BITO Pallet shuttles

Pallet shuttle racking combines compact storage with the flexibility offered by shuttle-operated loading and retrieval. The forklift driver places the battery-powered shuttle carrier at the front or the back of a lane and communicates transport tasks using a remote control. The shuttle carries palletised loads into the lane and retrieves them without human intervention. No auxiliary lane gradient is required as with pallet live storage racking, which enables maximum storage density. The storage levels can be loaded independently of each other. Shuttle pallet racking can also be designed as semi-automated system and for LIFO or FIFO operation. Shuttle-serviced pallet racking achieves fast throughput speeds which can be easily increased by using additional shuttle carriers.
 

Racking lanes can be loaded in LIFO and in FIFO order

Whereas each bay in pallet racking is dedicated to a specific product reference, single reference storage is limited to a lane in shuttle racking. Depending on the product quantity per SKU, it is possible to store large quantities in long FIFO lanes while remaining stock can be stored in short LIFO lanes. This layout variant is suitable for fluctuating stock levels and quantities due to seasonal peaks or when residual or buffer stock needs to be accommodated.
